Pack Hike to Holt’s Ledge

Pack 279 hiked a couple of miles of the Appalachian Trail in Lyme, NH, up to Holt’s Ledge. From the top, we could see for miles around. The fence at the edge of the cliff is fenced off not only to protect humans from the steep drop, but also to protect the peregrine falcons that nest on the cliff in the summer. Holt’s Ledge was one of the first sites in New Hampshire where peregrines were successfully reintroduced.
On the way back down, we even saw and heard a peregrine falcon!
